Το Ιράν εξαπέλυσε πάνω από 300 τηλεκατευθυνόμενα μη επανδρωμένα εναέρια οχήματα φορτωμένα εκρηκτικά, πυραύλους κρουζ και βαλλιστικούς πυραύλους εναντίον στρατιωτικών στόχων στο Ισραήλ τη νύχτα του Σαββάτου προς Κυριακή.
Το μαζικό χτύπημα ήρθε σε αντίποινα για τον ισραηλινό βομβαρδισμό εναντίον του προξενείου του στη Δαμασκό την 1η Απριλίου, άνευ προηγουμένου απευθείας επίθεση της Ισλαμικής Δημοκρατίας εναντίον της ισραηλινής επικράτειας.
